AMERICAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITIONS (AMC)

The American Mathematics Competition, an internationally-recognized competition, has been conducted in Korea since 2006, with an increasing number of participants every year. It is an excellent contest to draw out students' competencies by asking novel questions about how to approach the essence and fundamental concepts of Mathematics. Prestigious universities including MIT and Caltech give weight to AMC scores in admissions qualifications.

JCS Middle and High students (Grades 6-12) participate annually to measure their Math skills and engage in an international competition. JCS students participating in the AMC 8, 10 and 12 competitions have ranked in the top 2.5% worldwide and have joined ‘AIME’ (The American Invitational Mathematics Examination).
