Our dedicated teachers employ diverse strategies to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring that every student can achieve literacy proficiency and confidence.
Elemantary School Curriculum
Our English curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). By emphasizing reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language, our English Language Arts program guides students to establish foundational English skills through building robust vocabulary and grammar, reading diverse texts and literature, and articulating opinions on various topics. These foundational skills will further support students in developing their critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Our Math curriculum has been built around Singapore Math to cultivate students with analytical and inferential reasoning. After learning basic concepts of Mathematics such as geometry, sizes, shapes, planes, solids, and symbols, students move onto measurements, currency value, multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, graphs, symmetry, deductive reasoning, and word problems.
Our Science program has been developed to assist students in extrapolation of scientific theories and principles to the real world. They learn to observe and analyze their surrounding environment and to solve problems through the engineering design process.
JCS’ Elementary Korean Language curriculum aims to instill a sense of Korean identity in students by focusing on the Korean language and culture. It strictly adheres to the content of the national Korean language textbooks and the requirements of the Ministry of Education, emphasizing speaking, listening, reading, and writing to enhance students' overall abilities.
